Beyond this, there are millions more that have undiagnosed food intolerances and you might have experienced this yourself without realising it. Perhaps you’ve had an adverse reaction such as tummy pain or bloating when eating a particular food. It might be that something has even caused skin rashes or itching.

Thanks to a relatively modern type of approach through kinesiology, it’s now possible to identify people’s food intolerances fairly quickly and help them to enjoy a healthier and fuller life as a result.

In this article, we look at the top ten foods that might be the root cause of your food intolerance and hopefully it sheds some light if you’re experiencing some kind of discomfort.

1)     Dairy Products

We’re going to group together milk, cheese and yoghurt as they all come under the dairy umbrella and many people suffering with food intolerance have found there’s a common link between all three of the above.

If you are struggling with dairy, it might mean that you are lactose intolerant which means your body can’t digest lactose which is a natural sugar found in milk, cheese and yoghurt.

2)     Chocolate

Despite it being the go-to treat for so many people, unfortunately chocolate registers high on the food intolerance scale. It is often the case that you have a high sensitivity to the cocoa that is commonly found in chocolate, with this foodstuff also containing the amino acid tyramine.

There’s also the possibility that the caffeine in chocolate can trigger an adverse reaction and this can lead to shakiness, dizziness or shaking.

3)     Eggs

For many, eggs act as a vital protein source, especially for vegetarians. However, many people often struggle to break down the egg whites irrespective of whether you’re boiling, frying or scrambling this foodstuff.

It might be that you have gastrointestinal issues from consuming eggs along with potential abdominal upsets and even diarrhoea.

4)     Gluten

You are probably familiar with the term gluten-free by now, with an increasing number of people realising that any products that include gluten have given them health issues. It’s pretty common for bread and pasta to have gluten-free equivalents as a result.

Therefore, prawns, mussels, crab and lobster could be off the list, with symptoms such as nausea and abdominal pain being common as part of a delayed reaction.

7)     Corn

There are hundreds of food products that include corn, so this doesn’t just apply to sweetcorn or corn on the cob. It’s possible to develop gas and bloating from this product and it’s certainly worth checking food labels if you’re experiencing digestive issues to see if this product can be ruled out or not.

8)     Soy

Soy is often the go-to for vegetarians and vegans considering that it offers a viable and more beneficial alternative when it comes to getting your recommended protein allowance. Unfortunately, it’s not something that agrees with everyone and it’s another product that can produce gastrointestinal issues.

9)     Meat

There are clearly different kinds of meat and it has been found that many people struggle with food intolerance when it comes to consuming red meat such as pork and beef. Indeed, it’s recommended not to consume too much of this or it could have an impact on your day-to-day activities.

10)  Food Additives

As we all know, there are lots of foods out there which contain additives and unfortunately this might not agree with your digestive tract.
